in my early years, i did not see the value of education.

when i was going on thirteen, i started to run my own shop. from then on, iworked hard to become a successful businessman.

one day i realized the importance of the english language in the businessworld and started taking night classes.

i was able to communicate well with foreign customers after two years ofenglish study. but i started to feel that, in the long run, having a limitedknowledge of english was not enough to make my business successful. i knew thatonly a well- rounded education could guarantee my success in the future.

when i was eighteen, i had to make a decision to continue doing business orgo back to school. there was one obstacle keeping me from getting an advancededucation. i had only completed elementary school up to that point. i then wentback to senior high school after four months of tutoring in different at school for the first time after so many years was somewhat embarrassingbecause my classmates were at least two or three years younger than i. iconcluded that my age did not matter. the important thing was getting intocollege.

i took the college entrance exams. although my math exam result was onlyone point below the required score. i never gave up hope. the following year, itook it again and received the highest score in my city. achieving such anamazing result gave me encouragement and courage necessary to continue myeducation to the next step.

i am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late tolearn. my passion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt aslong as i continue to live.

“live and learn.” is the motto i have adopted. i believe with an educationi will succeed. so, if you are wondering whether education is important, don’thesitate a moment to step up and seize the opportunity.

在我小的时候，我不觉得教育有什么价值。在13岁的时候，我开始经营我自己的商店。从那时开始，我为成为一个成功的商人而努力工作。

一天，我意识到了英语对做生意的重要性并且开始上夜校。

在经过两年的英语学习之后，我已经能够很流利的和外国顾客交流。但我逐渐意识到，从长远来看，我现在仅有的英语知识无法使我的生意蓬勃发展。我知道只有渊博的知识是我未来成功的保证。

18岁的时候，我必须在继续从商和重新回学校学习之间做出选择。当时我仅有的小学学历成为我接受高等教育的一大障碍。经过4个月各门功课的恶补，我又回到了高中。多年后再次回到学校，让我有些尴尬。因为我的同班同学至少比我小2至3岁。然而在我看来，年龄不是问题，重要的是能上大学。

我参加了高考。虽然我的数学只比分数线低了一分。但我没有放弃。第二年，我又参加了高考并取得了当地的第一名。得到这样一个令人欣喜的结果，给了我进一步深造的动力和胆量。

现在，我上大学二年级，也知道学无止境。只要我活者，我对学习和自我充实的热情就不会减退。

“活到老，学到老”是我的座右铭。我坚信只有学习才会使我成功。因此，如果你对接受教育的重要性有所怀疑，不要犹豫，勇敢的迈出第一步，这样幸运之神便会光顾你。

前不久，我参加了2009年秋小学英语教材培训，聆听了教研室刘相前老师的讲座，观摩了几节英语课，我受益匪浅。通过学习，我有以下感受：

一、英语教师必须培养学生良好的学习习惯

作为一个小学英语教师，为了培养学生良好的学习习惯，我们首先应规范学生的书写习惯，要从学字母开始，要让学生认识什么是书写体，什么是印刷体。在书写的时候，胸要离桌子一拳头，本子要成10°角;其次，要有准确模仿的习惯，大胆开口的习惯，把英语作为一种交际工具，还要有及时复习的习惯;最后还要养成勤于积累，实践的习惯。只有这样，学生良好的学习习惯养成了，才能对英语学科感兴趣，才能愿学，乐学，善学。

二、英语教师必须具备扎实的基本功

作为一个小学英语教师必须要有听、说、读、写、画、唱、跳这些基本功。这次，我听了几节研讨课。这些老师们都具备了扎实的基本功，他们的教学方法也令人耳目一新，值得我们学习。特别是实验小学张丽执教的三年级上册第四单元的一篇认读数字课教学。在教学中，张老师注重了知识的积累和拓展，注重了学生学习策略的培养。为了帮助学生巧记单词，她首先引导学生分析相同的读音单词，帮助学生认读新单词。阅读中的任务设置也很到位，阅读时采用了略读和细读。在这节课中，老师充分体现了阅读课特点，引导学生进入话题，帮助学生化解了重难点，指导学生掌握了阅读技巧。张老师在这节课中，也注重围绕故事情节展开教学，注重创设情境，让学生感受语言，让学生在活动中体验语言，可见老师一系列基本中很过硬，这节课让学生学得轻松学得愉快。

还有城阳二小的唐文青老师执教的module 5 unit 1的一节课，也让我开了眼界。唐老师课堂教学技巧娴熟，逐渐形成了自己的教学风格，为了突破重难点，老师运用了抢答的形式，调动了学生的积极性，为了吸引学生的注意力，老师自制了钟表，让学生在学中玩，玩中学，愉悦了课堂，充分发挥了学生的主体作用。

三、 理念和思想的更新

通过这次培训学习，还使我们明白了应该树立终生学习、终身培训的意识，不断更新观念，勤于学习,与时俱进。随着经济国际化全球化的发展，英语词汇的不断更新，社会需求对英语教师的口语、语音、技能等水平要求会越来越高，如果教师不注意加强自身的学习，势必会被动挨打，还误人子弟。

四、自身英语能力的提高

这次培训，领导、老师根据我们学员的实际情况，给我们安排的一些提高自身英语能力的课程，如精读，让我们重温了以前学过的一些语法知识;还有语音课，谢老师准确的发音让我们佩服，他对每个音素的生动讲解让我们对牢记在心;学院还请了外教给我们上课，让我们感受了标准的英语口语，掌握的了一些基本的口语交际;在这一个月里，我们不管是英语口语、语音、语调，还是听力、书写都有了很大进步。

五、了解了最新的英语新课程改革理念

在这一次培训中，让我看到了有别于传统的英语教学模式课堂教学，了解到了最新的英语课程改革理念。处在基础教育阶段的英语教学，应面向全体学生，注重素质教育，突出学生主体。特别强调要关注每个学生的情感，激发他们学习英语的兴趣。“兴趣是最好的老师”，因此，我们要在课堂教学中创设语境，运用一些游戏，使英语课堂“活”起来。我们不要把英语课上成知识传授课，不要以教师的教代替学生的学，而要让学生在活动中去学习英语，通过说说、听听、唱唱、玩玩等形式，让小学生感受到学习英语的快乐，从而培养学习英语的兴趣。在教学过程中，我们还要强调师生互动。小学英语教学过程是师生交往、积极互动、共同发展的过程。所以，我们应该以小学生朋友、帮助者的身份出现，尊重每一个学生。特别要关爱那些在英语学习方面有困难的学生，要尽可能多地为小学生提供实践英语的机会，鼓励他们所做的一切尝试，保护他们的积极性，让他们在活动中增强学习英语的主动性、参与性，培养合作意识。

六、英语课堂教学技能的提高

这次培训，刘相前老师还对我们的英语教学技能进行了指导、训练，给我们安排了简笔画的绘画与运用，学唱英语歌曲，和英语教学游戏的运用，这些都是我们作为英语教师要掌握的。通过培训，我从不懂到懂，从不会用到灵活运用，还使我明白上英语课不难，但要上好英语课却不容易，需要老师有扎实的教学技能，回去以后，我还会继续提高自己的英语教学技能，努力成为优秀的小学英语教师。
