长城是世界闻名的奇迹之一，它像一条巨龙盘踞在中国北方的辽阔的土地上。它是中国古代劳动人民血法的结晶，也是中国古代文化的象征和中华民族的骄傲。

游客们，我们已经来到了著名的长城的东端起点--虎山，虎山位于丹东市城东十五公里的鸭象江畔，是国家级鸭绿江风景名胜区的一个重要景区，隔江与朝鲜的于赤岛和古城义洲相望。

虎山原名马耳山，因两个并排高耸山峰，状似两只竖立的虎耳，亦称虎耳山，至清代演化为今日的虎山，虎山突起于鸭绿江边，平地孤耸，视野开阔，对岸朝鲜的田地、房屋一览无余。作为国门，长城选址虎山，确有军事意义，丹东历次被外敌入侵，虎山首当其冲，总被视为军事要塞，最先遭到攻击，任何一个懂得军事的人都知道，占据制高点，就等于控制了战斗的主动权。在虎山建长城顺理成章，睿智的中国先人，身受卫国之命，责任、义务和自家性命，都不容他们不选择虎山为屏障。明巡抚都御史王之浩登监虎山要塞时，曾写下《登马耳山望朝鲜》一诗。

虎山面积四平方公里，主峰高146.3m。峰顶是万里长城的第一个峰火台。站在峰火台上环顾四周，朝鲜的义州城、中国的马市沙洲和连接丹东与新义州的鸭绿江大桥清晰可见。

虎山环境优美，是早年安东八大名景之一，这里有长城、睡佛、虎口崖等二十八个景点，是丹东城郊绝好的旅游胜地。

虎山长城被发现后，政府开始对它展开保护和修复。1992年曾投资380万元人民币，修复了600多米虎山长城，初现了长城最东端的面貌。20xx年又总投资2230万元人民币，完成了1000多米的长城主体修复。

现在规划中的虎山绿水萦绕，山上长城起伏，环山湖游艇穿梭直通鸭绿江，绿树山花与湖水相映，风景如面。这里将建设民俗村、边贸市场、长城博物馆、美食街等。经国家批准正在修复的虎山长城已俊工730多延长米。不久沿江游览路将直通虎山景区，从市区到虎山只需十几分钟就能到达。未来的虎山将是集游览、娱乐、度假、科研于一体的深受游客睛睐的旅游区。
